WINNERS & FINALISTS AT NIGERIAN EVENTS AWARDS 2014



The second edition of Nigerian Events Awards UK was held at the Hilton Docklands on Sunday, 25th May 2014. The awards project focuses on the  entire events industry in the Nigerian community in the UK, as well as honouring those who have made their marks in the industry. The finalists were chosen by public votes. The event wwas organised by the duo of Vanessa Oluwole and Jumoke Ariyo, who are event planners/designers themselves. The themed event was attended by well meaning people in and outside the events industry in the UK.

LUXURY DESIGNER, ADEBAYO JONES CELEBRATES 50TH IN STYLE

Friends and family gathered yesterday in London to celebrate the 50th birthday and 30 years in the fashion business of the King of luxury fashion, Adebayo Jones. It was a beautiful evening of colourful people. Chief Dele Momodu was the chairman of the exclusive occasion. The highlight of the lovely party was an exclusive fashion show with the best of Adebayo Jones's luxury brands on the runway. The black and gold label of Adebayo Jones's luxury champagne was also unveiled. The guests had a first hand taste of the champagne. It was altogether an evening of elegance and panache.

MEET JAGA, SHAN GEORGE'S TALENTED SON

Jagaceo Clyde Otsemobor (popularly called Jaga) a.k.a Mista Dry Gin is the second son of Nollywood star actress Shan George. He is a rapper/ producer/ sound engineer. He was born on November 6,1988 and he started rapping at the age of 12. A good lyricist, he has been producing and mixing music professionally since the age of 16 for the likes of Play Records’ Kanebi, Ghost of Show Dem Camp, eL Flaco & Novo to name a few Nigerian acts.
Dry Gin has also written for and collaborated with artists around the globe; from Eastern Europe to Italy & Ghana…and it goes on. Jaga had part of his growing up years in the Docklands region of East London where he released FIVE mixtapes in a little under THREE years (His debut mixtape CHAMELEON dropped in the summer of 2009  and can be found with the rest of his collection at nigeriansounds.com or datpiff.com and a steady stream of show stealing features on numerous mixtapes and viral videos. .
The song RACELINE is the first single off his upcoming collabo album with novo REBELLION. The song is a mix of various styles of deliveries in patua, pidgin, Yoruba, and pure English. The song leans towards the dancehall genre due to its moderate tempo speed and the overall jamaican-ish vibes.
