PHOTOS FROM THE 5TH DIAMOND SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARDS UAE EDITION 2015

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the annual global Diamond Special Recognition Awards; the brain child of UK based multi award winning events and entertainment consultant; and Tour2Nigeria Brand Ambassador, Yetunde Oduwole, the CEO of Bustline Media International, the awards' train moved to the Middle East.

The event; tagged "The celebration edition" was held on the 30th of October 2015 at the prestigious Novotel Hotel on the eye brow Sheikh Zayed Road; Al Barsha 1 in Dubai.

The Special Guest of Honour was the publisher of the world famous Ovation International Magazine; Dr Dele Momodu who was a 2011 recipient.

In his address; he stressed the need to encourage people who have contributed to the development of the community they live in through their hardwork by giving them a special recognition. He commended Yetunde Oduwole for making her vision global and bringing unsung achievers to the front row.

Yetunde Oduwole; in her speech laid  emphasis on the need to celebrate unknown achievers who sustain their community with the power to create jobs and skills transfer. She reckoned they are the real stars. By rewarding their hardwork with Recognition Awards; she intends to encourage them to pass on the skills that they possess to the next generation because the project believes dearly in Youth Empowerment and Sustainability.

 The event was compered by UAE based comedian; Pappy; the Sheikh of Comedy and Nigerian based Theresa Udie.

15 recipients from all walks of life were awarded for their various contributions to the development of their communities through their skills; among them were the Publisher of Glam & Essence, Susan Eyo Honesty, famous African Comedian; Ali Baba, Ogu Focus Group, Nollywood actress; Shan George, Zeez; the artiste formerly known as DJ Zeez who was a 2011 recipient; got the Male Personality Of The Year Award, Zimbabwean designer, Leah Mubwandarikwa got the Female Personality Of The Year Award, others are Shafaq Faisal ( Baker Of The Year) a Pakistani baker who lives in Dubai, Bashorun Olalekan, Funlas Freight Services, The African Shop, Dubai, Lukman Akanbi- proprietor of Kiza Lounge, Taiwo Odebode - Tiya Magazine UK, Biggy Restaurant Dubai, Billy Que B UK got the Promoter of The Year Award; Lanre Adenekan, Solad Entertainment, Wilhelmina Abu-Andani, Nana Michaels Dzikunu both of Golden Movies Awards Africa and others.

Guests who came from different countries all over the world were entertained by various performances, spoilt with gifts from Mary Kay and exquisite cuisines from the kitchen of Novotel Al Barsha. The surprise of the night was the scintillating performance of the award winning Nollywood actress; who recently embarked on a musical career; Dayo Amusa. She was a 2014 Diamond Special Recognition Awards recipient.

Co-actress, Mide Martins turned up to give her support. Solad Entertainment; the leading African Band in Dubai was also on hand. UK based comedienne, Bunmi West and UAE based comedian, Laughing Pickin thrilled the audience to various rib crackers.
