LUXURY DESIGNER, ADEBAYO JONES CELEBRATES 50TH IN STYLE

Friends and family gathered yesterday in London to celebrate the 50th birthday and 30 years in the fashion business of the King of luxury fashion, Adebayo Jones. It was a beautiful evening of colourful people. Chief Dele Momodu was the chairman of the exclusive occasion. The highlight of the lovely party was an exclusive fashion show with the best of Adebayo Jones's luxury brands on the runway. The black and gold label of Adebayo Jones's luxury champagne was also unveiled. The guests had a first hand taste of the champagne. It was altogether an evening of elegance and panache.

MEET JAGA, SHAN GEORGE'S TALENTED SON

Jagaceo Clyde Otsemobor (popularly called Jaga) a.k.a Mista Dry Gin is the second son of Nollywood star actress Shan George. He is a rapper/ producer/ sound engineer. He was born on November 6,1988 and he started rapping at the age of 12. A good lyricist, he has been producing and mixing music professionally since the age of 16 for the likes of Play Records’ Kanebi, Ghost of Show Dem Camp, eL Flaco & Novo to name a few Nigerian acts.

Dry Gin has also written for and collaborated with artists around the globe; from Eastern Europe to Italy & Ghana…and it goes on. Jaga had part of his growing up years in the Docklands region of East London where he released FIVE mixtapes in a little under THREE years (His debut mixtape CHAMELEON dropped in the summer of 2009  and can be found with the rest of his collection at nigeriansounds.com or datpiff.com and a steady stream of show stealing features on numerous mixtapes and viral videos. .

The song RACELINE is the first single off his upcoming collabo album with novo REBELLION. The song is a mix of various styles of deliveries in patua, pidgin, Yoruba, and pure English. The song leans towards the dancehall genre due to its moderate tempo speed and the overall jamaican-ish vibes.

RCCG GOODNEWS HAVEN CELEBRATES 9TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY

It was celebration time at The Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Goodnews Haven last week as they celebrated their 9th year anniversary. The theme of the anniversary was Victory in Praise. The anniversary weekend kicked off on the 2nd of May, it continued on Saturday with a nine hour non-stop praise session and the Church's thanksgiving activities took place on the 4th of May. Guest Ministers were Pastor Wunmi Oladunjoye (Provincial Pastor, Province 1, RCCG UK), Pastor Seyi Oladosu ( Zonal Pastor, Zone 1, RCCG UK), Evangelist Dr Bola Are all the way from Nigeria and Minister Testimony Joe.      Dorien Oluwakemi Jacob, the lady from Netherlands who sings Yoruba gospel was also on hand to minister, as well as the Goodnews Angels and many others. The weekend was a potpourri of Praises, Prayers, Dance and Music. The programme was hosted by Pastor and Pastor Mrs Okosun.

BRITISH GOVERNMENT PLANS FOR NIGERIA

The British Government's plans for Nigeria towards security measures and in the search for the missing girls are: 

• Sending a small team of experts, including military officers, to assist with the search.

• The group will concentrate on planning, co-ordination and advice rather than taking part in operations to free the girls. 

• Treating the issue as not just a Nigerian issue, but a global issue.

• Facing and fighting extremist Islamists around the world who are against education and progress. 

• They would be part of a larger US assistance team, including members of the State Department and Justice Department, who would help with intelligence, communications and logistics.

Meanwhile, it has been made clear that the US had no plans to launch a military operation. But President Barack Obama pledged to do everything he could to help rescue the youngsters.

Boko Haram, whose name means "Western education is sinful", has continued to fight a five-year insurgency against the Nigerian government, with the hope to pull out an Islamic state in Northern Nigeria. Through 2002 to 2013,  they have been estimated to have taken 10,000 lives.

The Nigerian Police Force have announced a 50m Naira reward for credible information leading to the location and rescue of the schoolgirls.
