MEET THE NIGERIAN WHO OWNS BRITISH AIRPORTS

Adebayo Ogunlesi, the 60 year old Nigerian is popular for being referred to as the man that owns Gatwick Airport. The investment banker and equity tycoon acquired it based on the 2010 $2.4 billion deal in which he led the company he co-founded, Global Infrastructure Partners -GIP to acquire. He also led the company to acquire London City Airport and the Edinburgh Airport.
Ogunlesi is the son of Nigeria's first Professor of Medicine. He attended King's College Lagos and Oxford University, where he got a BA First Class Honours in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He bagged a Law Degree and MBA at Havard University. 
He is also the chairman of Africa Finance Corporation, a Pan-African infrastructure investment firm. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Goldman Sachs, an American multinational investment banking firm.  
He is married to Dr Amelia Quist Ogunlesi, a New York based optometrist.
