@ THE 18TH AFRICAN FILMS AWARDS UK

Yesterday, the 6th of November 2014, African Voice Newspaper in partnership with Lebara Mobile put together the 18th Annual African Films Awards, also known as AfroHollywood Awards. The event took place at the Odeon Cinema, Greenwich, London.
 
Omoni Oboli, Bose Oseyemi (Lepacious Bose), Roseline Sanni Ajose, MC Mark, Rita Nzelu, Abass Tijani (DJ Abass), Sync Photography, Miss Nigeria UK 2014 and more, were among the award recipients of the night. Ace Comedian, Omo Baba was the comedian of the night alongside Lepacious Bose.
 
The Diplomats from the Nigeria High Commission UK were well represented. They included the Deputy High Commissioner, Ambassador Olukunle Bamgbose, SA to the High Commissioner, Minister Adeniyi, Minister Alege, Minister Oga and Minister Adelemi.

Also present were His Worshipful, Mayor of Lambeth, Cllr Adedamola Aminu, Mr and Mrs Adenuga of Femade UK, Mr Femi Okutubo of Trumpet Newspaper, Chairman CANUK Mr Bimbo Afolayan, Fashion Icon Adebayo Jones, Mr Ayo Akinfe of Nigerian Centenary Awards UK and many more distinguished guests.

The event was geared towards celebrating the Nollywood and British Cinema and the new position of Nollywood on the World map, according to Mike Abiola and Golda John, the organisers of the yearly event. As part of the celebration, two Films, "Gone Too Far" and "Being Mrs Elliot" were screened on the night.
