Reports say the plane, a LEA 36 executive jet, struck a crane at the Grand Bahama Ship Yard, exploding on impact and crashing into the ground close to a junkyard. The jet was said to have departed the Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, Bahamas at 4:07PM for the Grand Bahama International Airport with nine people on board.

The crash occurred while the private jet was making an approach for landing at Grand Bahama International Airport at 5.10pm and flying really low because of the bad weather. The crash killed all nine passengers on board.
