YETUNDE ODUWOLE : THIS IS YOUR LIFE

YETUNDE AFOLAKE ODUWOLE was born in KINGS' COLLEGE HOSPITAL, LONDON on the 14th day of february (VALENTINE'S DAY) over 4 decades ago to a UK trained Building Engineer, Late Mr. L.A Oduwole and Mrs K.O Oduwole, a product of  Pittman's College of Secretarial studies, UK. She is a first daughter in a family of a boy and three girls.

 She went to IFAKO INTERNATIONAL NURSERY & PRIMARY SCHOOL NIGERIA, CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH SCHOOL NIGERIA, ANGLICAN GIRLS' GRAMMAR SCHOOL NIGERIA, UNIVERSITY OF JOS NIGERIA, LONDON LEISURE COLLEGE UK and UNIVERSITY OF GREENWICH, LONDON respectively. She at one time in her life studied ACCOUNTANCY, but because of her love for words, she veered into JOURNALISM.

 She started off her writing career with a News Magazine based in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria called THE EDITOR owned by Steven Lar, brother of a one time Governor of Plateau State, Dr. Solomon Lar in 1989. She later joined  Nigerian Standard Newspapers by Plateau Publishing Company in Jos shortly after, writing AUDIO VISUAL WATCH, a popular and controversial radio and television critic page whilst studying in Jos. She created her popular column BUSTLINE which has earned her fame because of its honest, down-to-earth and unusual  thrashing of various topics from sex to marriage and relationships in 1990.

In 1995, she was invited by the Master of Nigerian romance journalism, Mr. Kayode Ajala to join HEARTS MAGAZINE, a celebrated romance journal. She thereafter worked with SWEETHEARTS magazine, SWEETDREAMS magazine ( both romance journals), and she was a contributing editor to a fashion/lifestyle magazine, EMINENT PEOPLE by the fashion icon David Kolawole Vaughan (DAKOVA).  In 1997, Mr. Mayor Akinpelu, a guru in Nigerian Journalism invited her to join FAME magazine, one of the leading soft sell magazines at the time. Afterwards, she became the woman editor of MARVEL magazine. Still in 1997, Mr. Mayor Akinpelu started his magazine GLOBAL EXCELLENCE, and made Yetunde his first Woman Editor.

In 1998, Yetunde got married to her ex-husband, a co Journalist Babs Adegbenjo and they both kicked off CRYSTALS MAGAZINE in London which started as a free pick up journal and later an all- gloss, all- colour lifestyle/celebrity magazine. In 2005, she was invited by Mr. Seye Kehinde, the publisher of CITYPEOPLE magazine and CEO of CITYPEOPLE MEDIA/ENTERTAINMENT to contribute her column BUSTLINE to the largest circulating soft sell in Africa.

With an envious portfolio of over 20 years in the PRINT MEDIA, the beautiful Bustline Yetunde Oduwole has come a very long way and worthy of celebration. Presently she is compiling THE BEST OF BUSTLINE, a compilation of the very best of her works since 1990 in form of a book, to be published soon.

Aside being witty with words, she also has an undying love for acting, which she considers her first love - she has featured in some Nigerian movies/series/sitcoms including NTA JOS's 1991 award winning drama entry for the year's national film festival, NTA's ( Nigerian Television Authority) popular detective series, THIRD EYE of the early 1990s, NTA's SUPPLE BLUES, IYAWO ALHAJI by Tunde Alabi-Hundeyin (Dudu), THIS LIFE SERIES by Wale Adenuga,  MAGNATE by Taiwo Ogundipe, IDERA ALAKO by Lola Alao, and presently, she is in a lead role in a TV series showing on Ben Television London called "London Lawa". She is a seasoned script writer as well, having scripted some of the  stories in PALACE, a top Nigerian soap opera by Tunji Bamishigbin and Ralph Nwadike and some personal works. She equally holds various aces in artiste promotions/packaging. She scored a first by creating diamond special recognition awards worldwide in 2011, a global awards ceremony that recognises unsung achievers as well as the celebrated around the world. She is currently the chairperson of an association of 

Theatre  and entertainment practitioners in the African community in the UK called EATEP.

She has an OCR (Oxford & Cambridge Recognition) in Travel and Tourism UK, She is a qualified, UK approved FIRST AIDER. She has a B.A Hons in Tourism Management at the University of Greenwich, London.

Yetunde is a mother of two handsome and highly intelligent boys, Alexander and Antonio. She presently lives in London.
